The Research and Development of Expert System for Designing Gear Reducer

In order to increase the quality and efficiency of gear reducer design and reduce design costs,the paper introduces the basic concepts and key components of expert system,analyses knowledge representation,structure of KB and knowledge reasoning in the process of reducer design,discusses and researches the structure and major modules of the expert system and develops the expert system of reducer design based on VB.An instance in the text shows that the system is accurate and efficient,it also shows that the system is a powerful tool for reducer design.
