An English Pronunciation Training System Based on Speech Comparison Technology

Foreign language learning is a difficult and time-consuming task. It i s not affordable for most students to be in one-to-one interactions with a teach er who is a native speaker. They can mimic native speakers' utterance from tapes and discs, but they have to check the imitation result by themselves. In most c ases, they could not recognize their mistakes or weakness in their pronunciation . An English pronunciation training system is introduced in this paper. This sys tem can help users to find their problems in pronunciation and even locate the w orst pronounced syllable, and provide the corresponding guide.
