Abstract: | Every activity of a medical practitioner may be subjected to court control. This creates not only uncertainty gut also anger amongst most physicians. However, it is clear that no court judgement against a physician will be made without the competent support of independent medical experts. On the basis of the relevant legal literature and judgments, the present article is an attempt to consider medical errors in the administration of contrast media, to describe the required medical informed consent before such measures, and to discuss the ever increasing importance of adequate documentation in the light of malpractice proceedings. importance of adequate documentation in the light of malpractice proceedings.
