Abstract:The increasing growth of HVDC transmission system poses new challenges to the secure operation of power systems. The transient voltage stability preventive control optimization for weak receiving-end system with HVDC infeed was analyzed. A transient voltage stability preventive control optimization model was formulated. In this model, minimizing the transient voltage recovery index was considered as objective function, active power output, terminal voltage of generators and active power transmitted by HVDC were selected as decision variables. An improved differential evolution algorithm was implemented to obtain the optimal control strategy. Initialization of population using opposition based learning and self-adaption of control parameters were introduced to enhance the global convergence of algorithm. The simulation results of actual power grid with HVDC infeed demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed transient voltage stability preventive control method.
