| Abstract: | Calculation of loss is the basis of determining efficiency of a motor. This paper discusses the calculation of copper loss, iron loss, mechanical losses and stray loss in a switched reluctance motor. Analytical formulas for these loss are given so that the efficiency can be e3timatcd while designing a switched reluctance motor. |
