Oil Resource Evaluation and Management Used in Western Oil Companies

Western oil companies pay attention to oil and gas resource evaluation, especially for economic reserves, value and risk evaluation of the reserves. Methods for the resource evaluation used by the western oil companies include geologic evaluation, economic evaluation and integral evaluation (Monte Carlo simulation). In the oil and gas resource management the differences between the western oil companies and China's oil companies include that the western oil companies use an integrated management for reserve exploration, while China's oil companies use the management system that oil exploration is separated from its development.
