Landscape Urbanism at the Architectural Association

AA Landscape Urbanism addresses the conditions that define 21st century urbanism - precarious ecologies, fragmented social compositions and rapidly shifting modes of production - and engages these through the processual and scalar complexity of landscape as its operative model. With this model the urban is diagrammed as a complex and processual ecology necessarily connected at local, regional and global scales, and understood in terms of its unfolding potential, rather than one enclosed within the nostalgic and socially divisive strategies of the 'new urbanist' enclave.
