Service management in intelligent networks

Abstract:Six basic categories of management functions are defined and described: configuration management, fault management, performance management, accounting management, security management, and planning. A network service model that encompasses these functions is presented, and some management issues are addressed. Two examples of service management are examined: network service provisioning and customer network service management
