Abstract: | Changing the Code of Practice embodied in a reinforced concrete design program usually needs much expensive programming effort. A solution to this problem is described in which the Code-dependent sections of design programs are isolated and specified in a new problem-oriented language, developed for this task. Changing Codes in this program merely means changing the file of Code provisions. A simple beam design program, already run under five Codes, is described and some comparative design results are also shown. |
