Kinetics of trans- and cis-resveratrol (3,4',5-trihydroxystilbene) after red wine oral administration in rats

Abstract:Kinetics of trans- and cis-resveratrol (3,4',5-trihydroxystilbene), a natural compound from grape products, have been evaluated in rats after oral administration of red wine. Resveratrol concentrations were measured in plasma, heart, liver and kidneys. Tissue concentrations showed a significant cardiac bioavailability and strong affinity for liver and kidneys.
