Void swelling in ion-bombarded molybdenum

Heavy ion bombardment of molybdenum single crystal has produced calculated swelling values of 2.5 to 3% in the temperature range 900°C to 1000°C. The swelling values are somewhat higher than those reported by Evans for 900°C bombardment. The differences in the swelling are believed to be due to the absence of helium or the slightly higher temperatures used in this work.
