| Abstract: | The diffraction of high frequency torsion waves by a penny-shaped crack situated in an infinite isotropic elastic solid is considered. Asymptotic expressions for the dynamic stress intensity factors are derived for a variety of incident excitations, and the results predict an oscillatory behaviour of these factors at high frequencies. |
