BiPbVO5 — A new bismuth lead vanadate

BiPbVO₅ was prepared for the first time and single crystals were grown by the Czochralski technique. Precession x-ray photographs indicated triclinic symmetry with space group 1 or 1?. The lattice parameters are $\text{a}\text{= 7.082}\text{A}\text{?}$, $\text{b}\text{= 7.802}\text{A}\text{?}$, $\text{c}\text{= 5.203}\text{A}\text{?}$, a = 111.788 deg., β = 95.207 deg., γ = 108.717 deg.
