| Abstract: | Wool wax and certain wool wax derivatives are investigated as regards their effect on the rheological behaviour of a hydrocarbon ointment base (vaseline). The rheological parameters considered are: flow pattern, structural viscosity, yield value, plastic viscosity, coefficients B and M of thixotropic breakdown and structural recovery. Evidence is provided for marked changes of the rheological characteristics of the system in presence of any of the investigated materials. A discussion of the different effects is presented. |
