| Abstract: | According to the analysis from Wang Shu＇s projects, the essay illustrates the characters of Diverse Theatricality. Wang Shu＇s buildings have the theatricality of space with the essence of Chinese classical gardens, the theatricality of image with the unique appearance and the strong expression of materiality, the theatricality of construction with the innovative using of traditional materials. We need the theatricality to resist the commercial culture and spectacle in contemporary China, and explore the tectonic culture of China. |
