Abstract:With the rapid development of modern communication technology,emergency voice communication,as an important means to deal with sudden natural disasters,has received extensive attentions in recent years.Combined with the actual requirements of emergency communications,an innovative application of narrow band voice communications based on narrow band wireless ad hoc networks is discussed in this paper.Firstly,we arise the problems and requirements of narrow band emergency communication according to actual applications.Then,we introduce the concept,principle and characteristics of narrow band ad hoc network.The characteristics of wide coverage,robustness,infrastructure-less,and low cost meet the current requirements of remote areas emergency communications perfectly.In the end,the advantages of the novel application are illustrated with a practical case.It proved the feasibility and superiority of the novel emergency communication application based on narrow band wireless ad hoc networks preliminarily.
