Abstract: | Wild rats,Rattus norvegicus, R. exulans, andR. rattus, avoided wire-cage live traps that had previously captured mongooses,Herpestes auropunctatus. Replacing traps soiled by mongooses with clean traps would increase rat capture success and reduce a source of experimental bias. |
