Research progress of woody oil resources in China

Oil safety has a significant relationship with the development and stability of national economy and society. As an important oil type, vegetable oil plays an irreplaceable role in edible oil, food, chemical industry, medicine, energy and other fields. With the increasing global demand for vegetable oils, traditional herbal such as soybean, rape and peanut oils have been unable to meet the demand, and people pay more and more attention to the development and utilization of woody plant oil resources. In this paper, the research status of woody oil resources in China was reviewed from following aspects, such as species and distribution regions of woody oil crops, fatty acid composition and quality of woody oil-bearing crops, mining of new woody oil-bearing crops, discovery and regulation of genetic genes of woody oil.
