Distributed Network Traffic Generating System with Measuring Support

This paper presents a network traffic generating system with measurement support. The system is composed of one console, multiple senders and receivers. This distributed architecture is beneficial to the scalability of the system. Another feature of the system is that while network traffic is generating, performance of the experiment network can be measured and visualized. This paper presents organization, implementation and control protocol of the system, and discusses measuring algorithms and formulas for packet loss rate and transport delay. Finally, performance of the system is tested and results are discussed.
