Urridaholt山城项目始于2004年,最初由大规模的公众参与讨论,目的是沿着Reykjavik城市边缘进行可持续扩展。项目位于山顶,自然环境优美,可尽览周围山丘、火山、熔岩地区和海岸线。山下是由自然温泉形成的湖泊,四周由冷却的岩浆围合,具有很高的生态价值。

The Urridaholt project began in 2004 with a large-scale community planning exercise which helped create a vision for a sustainable urban extension on the outskirts of Reykjavik in Iceland. The proposed site was environmentally sensitive; an entire hill with panoramic views of the spectacular surrounding landscape encompassing mountains, volcanoes, a lava field and the ocean. At the foot of the hill lay a shallow lake of great ecological value, created when a lava flow returned around the foot of the hill and formed a dam for natural springs.
