1. Shinshu University Masaki Yamaguchi joined the Brother Industrial Co., in April 1987 after obtaining a Master's degree from Shinshu University. He has been involved in research on supersonic motors at the Central Research Laboratory. He joined a continuing education program at Shinshu University as a doctoral candidate in April 1991. He is now engaged in research on linear actuators for electromagnetic-type artificial hearts.;2. Shinshu University Masamichi Nagumo graduated in March 1990 from Shinshu University, where he is currently in the Master's program. He is interested in the super magnetostriction-type vibration elements and analysis of linear electromagnetic actuators.;3. Shinshu University Minoru Iio graduated from Nagoya University in March 1955. He also has a Dr. of Eng. degree. He was appointed a full Professor at Shinshu University in 1977 after serving as an Assistant at Gifu University. He has been involved in research on the fuel cells and analysis of electromagnetic force.;4. Shinshu University Hajime Yamada obtained a Master's degree in 1959 from Tokyo Institute of Technology. He also has a Dr. of Eng. degree. He joined Shinshu University as an Assistant and was promoted to Lecturer in 1961, Associate Professor in 1966, and a full Professor in 1984. His interests are centered on the analysis of magnetic circuits including the magnetic sensor, electromagnetic artificial heart and linear motor. He has a joint appointment as Professor on the Faculty of Medicine, Hiroshima University, and a Visiting Researcher at Fukui Prefectural Technical Center.;5. Amada Co., Ltd. Tsutomu Mizuno obtained a Master's degree from Shinshu University in March 1983 and joined Amada Co. in April of the same year. He has been involved in research on application of a linear motor to machining tools and plating machines.;6. Hitachi Metals Technox, Ltd. Hiroya Suzuki graduated in March 1953 from Tohoku University and joined Hitachi Ltd., where he was involved in the design of parts of telephone switching equipment. He joined Hitachi Metal Technox, Ltd. in November 1989, where he has been involved in the research and development of magnetic materials and their applications. He is a member of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers of Japan;7. Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers;8. and Society of Applied Magnetics. |
