Abstract: | Multi-body system theory was employed here to form the geometric error model of vertical CNC lathe and to make an analysis of the precision of the slewing ring's ball track turned in vertical CNC lathe. Both of the results of cutting test and analysis demonstrate that four of the non-linear geometric errors of vertical CNC lathe greatly affect the angle contacting the ball and the opening size of the slewing ring's ball track.Minimizing the four errors is essential to enhance the machining precision. The application of the skill of the CNC software compensation of the geometric errors based on the rule of the reverse compensation is one of the effective measures to increase the precision. |
