Abstract:Using boundary-fitted coordinate system, the Navier-Stokes equations in terms of stream function and vorticity are solved for the flow across a semicircular-sectioncylinder. The flow structure is analyzed for the Reynolds number Re=100. Vortex shedding behind the cylinder wake can be observed clearly.
