Review and development analysis of the power generation industry of China in 2006

By the end of 2006, the installed capacity of the power generation units was up to 622,000,000kW nationwide, a year-onyear increase of 20.3%. In 2006, power generation units with a total installed capacity of 100,970,000kW were added nationwide, including hydropower capacity of 9,710,000kW, thermal power capacity of 90,280,000kW and wind power capacity of 920,000kW. In the power structure of our country by the end of 2006, the hydropower capacity was up to 128,570,000kW, accounting for approximate 20.67% of the total, a year-on-year increase of 9.5%; the thermal power capacity was up to 484,050,000kW, accounting for approximate 7.82% of the total, a year-on-year increase of 23.7%; the proportion of hydropower capacity to the total capacity decreased by 2.03 percentages, while the proportion of thermal power capacity to the total capacity increased by 2.15 percentages. In terms of power production, the amount of power generation reached 2,834,400,000,000kW/h, a year-on-year increase of 135%. Out of it, the amount of hydropower generation was 416,700,000,000kW/h, accounting for approximate 14.70% of the total, a year-on-year increase of 5.1%; the amount of thermal power generation was 2,357,300,000,000kW/h, accounting for approximate 83.17% of the total, a year-on-year increase of 15.3%; the amount of nuclear power generation was 54,300,000, 000kW/h, accounting for approximate 1.92% of the total, a year-on-year increase of 2.4%.
