| Abstract: | Hardy's Tess of the D'Urbervilles occupies a very important position in British literary arena. This article tries to probe into the critical realistic ingredients in Tess of the D'Urbervilles from the angles of environment and character analysis, and tries to seek causes to the tragedy of Tess from realistic points of view,so as to help readers of Tess to understand Hardy's arts and thoughts, and give readers a deeper comprehension of this novel. |
