基于TMS320C6416的MPEG-2视频压缩优化方案

摘    要:针对嵌入式视频编码的实时性问题,给出了MPEG-2视频压缩算法在TMS320C6416DSP上的优化方法,包括基于EDMA的双缓存设计、线性汇编改写以及对量化计算的改进等.测试结果显示,经过优化后的视频压缩速度得到显著提高,压缩D1视频的速度达到43fps左右,满足实时应用需求.

Abstract:Video compression is complex and it is difficult to realize a real-time video encoder on embedded systems.To solve this problem,Optimization methods of MPEG-2 video compression algorithm based on TMS320C6416 DSP platform are given in this paper.These optimization methods include design of double buffering based on EDMA,rewriting of C codes using linear assembly and improvement on quantization.Test results show a significant increase on video compression speed after optimization and D1 video sequences can be encoded at a speed of about 43 frames per second in real time.
