Abstract: | Single crystal structural studies disclose hexagonal symmetry, , . The structure has been refined in space groups P63mc and finally in P63/mmc. The ideal cell contents are Ca6Si2O10; any fluorine present is postulated to substitute randomly for oxygen with concommitant Ca omission. The close structural relations between this phase and Ca3SiO5 are described. |
