Fuzhou＇s ancient towers concentrated diversified elements of religious culture, architec- tural technology, carving art, history, humanities and social economy, which forms an important component of Fuzhou＇s cultural heritage and is an evidence of the prosperity and decline of the cap- ital of Fujian province. The construction of woodlike structure of building-shaped stone tower Fuzhou is among the leaders in China. The stone carvings of the ancient tower are of distinct religious features and local specialities. They reflect the development of Buddhism in Fujian capital, which embodies the concept of fengshui of the folk people, reflects the folk tradition and poem and verses culture. It also depicts the sailing history relative to Fujian ports, which embodies high archaeologi- cal values and humanity and showcases the creativity and wisdom of the ancient labouring people in Fuzhou.
