An Idea of a Long-Stroke Pumping Unit Without Walking Beam

The author presents an idea of a long-stroke pumping unit comprised of a rope sheave mechanism and a crank block mechanism in series, shows the design scheme and the principle of operation, expounds the motion pattern and the method of determining the scale parameter. Comparing with conventional pumping units, the author thinks that this new unit has the advantages of long stroke, low pumping speed, minor fluctuation coefficient, low polished rod acceleration and can be fitted with an electric motor of lower power.
