| Abstract: | In 1905 Wolfgang Gaede invented a sturdy, quickly operating high vacuum pump, which was easy to use. It was produced and distributed under licence from E. LEYBOLD’s Nachf. This firstly allowed the application of high vacuum technique to industriel production. Gaede continued to work with Leybold just to the end of his life in 1945. |
