Abstract:This provides an overview of modern centrifuges, accessory equipment, and the hazards and safe use of this equipment. Practical aspects of care and safe use of centrifuges, rotors, and accessory equipment and prevention of rotor failure and other accidents are addressed. It is intended to provide a basic resource for laboratory technical personnel and for those conducting laboratory safety audits. This should supplement but not replace the user’s manual provided by the manufacturer.
