17世纪以来,随着自然科学体系和建筑技术的发展,理性主义观念尤其是工具理性极大地影响了建筑设计思想。文章通过一系列18世纪以来的＂极端建筑现象＂,试图揭示出过度理性主义与这些极端建筑现象之间的关联。文章以批判的视角审视过度理性主义与现实之间的巨大差异,支持通过回归古典价值体系平衡过度理性主义对建筑的影响。

Rationalism and Extreme Phenomena in Architecture

From the 17th century onward,with the progress made in natural science and construction technology,rationalist concepts,especially instrumental rationality,have held enormous sway over architectural thinking.Through an investigation of a series of extreme phenomena in architecture since the 18th century,this essay reveals the associations between such phenomena with over-rationalism,and in highlighting the conflict between over-rationalist ideas and the variety of realities,expresses a critique of tendency of over-rationalism,then advocates a return to the classical value system in order to relieve the crisis caused by over-rationalism.
