The Strategy and Consideration of the Revival of Historic District--With the Conservation Planning of the Wushengmen Historic District in Yuyao City as an Example

Cultural decline and physical downfull are two reasons of the decline of a historical district. Cultural connotations are the inherent expression and the important protection content of a historical district. We divided the human activities areas, ex- pand the depth and breadth of the conservation planning and use the gradual regeneration mode mixed with the massive mode in the Wushengmen historic district; Yuyao City. We also use the ways of enhanced the function, cultural resource col- lected and to be performed, traditional architectural shapes protected and communicated, mixed meth- ods used to do the conservation planning comprehensively, integrity and positively.
