Abstract:A comparative study shows that during heat treatment,Ag-sheet covered Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O superconductor has a higher zero resistance T_(?) than the uncovered one,and 110K superconducting phase is easily formed in the Ag-covered sample than inthe uncovered one.XPS results show that the preferential volatilizing of Bi and Caespecially Bi in Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O superconductor occurs during sintering process.Therelative concentrations of Bi,Sr,Ca and O in the sample covered with Ag-sheetare higher than that of the uncovered one because the Ag cover can depress thevolatility.
