Abstract: | Single crystalline Co3O4 nanorods have been successfully synthesized through thermal decomposition of the precursor, which was obtained by the microwave-assisted hydrothermal route. The obtained sample was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FT-IR), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results confirm that the resulting oxide was pure single-crystalline Co3O4 nanorods. The optical property test indicates that the absorption peak of the nanorods shifts towards short wavelength. And the blue shift phenomenon might be ascribed to the quantum effect. |
