| Abstract: | The operating principle of dispersion compensator with linearly chirped optical fiber grating structure has been explained by a simple physical model. On the basis of the coupled mode theory, we have derived the basic equation of optical fiber gratings. By this equation, we have calculated the response characteristic of linearly chirped optical fiber gratings. |
