Abstract:Surface modification using micro - plasma arc on the welded joint was conducted in the paper. With 4 A micro -plasma arc, the surface of the 1Cr18Ni9Ti tungsten inert- gas (TIG) arc welded joint was scanned by the multipass method.The microstructure was observed using SEM. The polarization curves both with and without remelting were plotted in 1M H2SO4 solution. It was found that after remelting, the microstructure was refined and the microsegregation was eliminated. As a result, the corrosion resistance of the joint was significantly improved.
