Application of polymerization inhibition measures in butadiene extraction unit and ethylene unit

With analyzing the mechanism of butadiene polymerization,it is confirmed that the active radical is the key factor for butadiene polymerization.Some measures such as eliminating trace amount oxygen,removing rust,adding polymerization inhibitor and lowering temperature have been proved to be useful reducing butadiene polymer.On the above results,the specific reasons of butadiene polymerization in butadiene extraction unit and the debutanizer of ethylene unit of Sinopec Zhenhai Refining&Chemical Company were addressed,and the corresponding polymerization inhibition measures and their effects were presented.The results of polymerization inhibition measures show that the polymerization of butadiene is able to decrease by nitrogen replacement,regular oxygen removal,adding polymerization inhibitor,chemical cleaning and lowering temperature.The running cycle of butadiene extraction unit was extended from 2 a to 4 a,and the running cycle of the debutanizer reboiler in ethylene unit was extended to over 1.5 a.
