| Abstract: | This paper addresses the relation between constraining forces, constraint equations, and undetermined multipliers, used in studying constrained multibody systems. A formalism is developed establishing the undetermined multiplier method through the concept of a generalized constraint force, partial velocities, and kinematic constraint equations. |
