Abstract: | An isoparametric linear plate bending element is introduced and its use for the analysis of beams, square and rhombic plates is examined. One-point integration for the generation of an element stiffness matrix has been carried out. When compared with available solutions, the agreement of the results have been excellent. Isoparamctric linear elements have been found to be more economical than isoparametric quadratic elements at least for beams and plates with straight edges. |
