Abstract: | Barium titanate (BaTiO3) powders were synthesized by a solid state reaction between BaCO3 and TiO2 at high temperatures. Based on the empirical model for BaTiO3 formation proposed by Beauger et al. [6], a simple mathematical model to represent the experimental results was derived. The assumptions of the model within a physical framework are discussed. It is believed that the proposed mathematical model can contribute to the understanding of the mechanisms that control BaTiO3 formation at high temperatures. |
