Diagnostic method for vehicle brakes

The heat generation process during the work of brake mechanism, and also the change of its temperature in the early period of work is considered. Theoretical and experimental validation is provided for thermal diagnosis of vehicle brakes in a wheeled tractor as an example. The diagnostic parameter is adopted as the maximum rate of temperature increases in the drum brake under steady-state conditions. The braking moment is used as a structural parameter.
