Internet CAS存储协议的研究

内容寻址存储(content addressable storage,CAS)是一种基于内容的对象存储,目前的系统只能提供API或POSIX文件接口,CAS应用时必须做大量的编程工作,这限制了CAS的应用范围.描述了CAS的存取操作机理,分析了CAS的存取模式和广域网的特点,提出和实现了一种基于http的CAS客户端与服务器之间的网络通信和数据存取的协议,称为Internet CAS协议(简称iCAS).iCAS协议将CAS存储服务直接输出到Internet,使CAS应用不受网络环境和操作系统平台的限制,并简化了CAS与应用的集成.对iCAS进行了测试,结果表明iCAS具有较好的性能.

Research on Interface Protocol over Internet for CAS

CAS(content addressable storage)is a new kind of object-based storage.The application range of CAS is strictly limited by CAS interface,SO most of available CAS systems can only provide API or POSIX file interface.In this paper,the mechanism of CAS is described;the communication protocol between CAS application and CAS server and the characters of WAN are analyzed.To extend the CAS service to Internet,an interface protocol over Internet for CAS is suggested,which is called Internet CAS protocol,or iCAS for short.iCAS can also directly export CAS service to Internet,so it can be applied to apparently access data through different OS platforms and be used in any network environment.Thus the application for CAS is simplified and the integration cost is decreased dramatically.The test results show that the performance of iCAS protocol is better than CAS with C/S mode.
