| Abstract: | Dynamic innovation is the competitive advantage of SMEs. However the innovation is subjected to be imitated by rivals. So the intellectual property rights （IPRs） protection of innova- tion is extremely important for SMEs. This article examines the net present value （NPV） of product innovation project in house on different contexts. The selection of strategies of IPRs depends on NPV. The author suggests that innovation protection strategies of NPD are subject to the characteristics of the product and the market situation. The article concludes that the public sector should offer SMEs supports on reforming the IP system including subsidizing patenting fees,judicial arbitration arrangements, export and other relevant means. |
