Preliminary Analysis of Planning Methods of Xi'an Urban Pattern in the Beginning of Ming Dynasty

The paper discusses urban planning techniques by analyzing the background of Xi'an urban planning in the beginning of Ming Dynasty. The city of Xi'an in the beginning of Ming Dynasty was the extended version on the basis of the city of Fengyuan in Yuan Dynasty, taking into consideration of the suburban historic cultural environment systematically, and especially Dayang pagoda and Xiaoyang pagoda played a key role in determining Qinwang mansion and the pattern of the city of Xi'an in the beginning of Ming Dynasty. The discussion about this planning methods will contribute to the comprehension of the urban context of Xi'an and the conservation of "the complete pattern of the city of Xi'an in Ming Dynasty" and the planning and construction of the region of Xi'an in Ming Dynasty.
