全息存储—下一代存储解决方案

摘    要:在过去的十几年中 ,人们对大容量和高速传率的追求不断升级 ,特别是随着网络和多媒体技术的广泛应用 ,这种需求更是急剧膨胀。对大容量、高速传率和短存取时间的永无休止的需求 ,促进了各种数据存储技术的发展。二维存储技术 ,如磁存储、传统光盘存储和半导体存储等仍在不断地改进以满足对存储系统更大和更快等要求 ,然而这些存储手段正逐步接近其物理极限。目前正在迅速发展的一种有别于传统技术的方法就是三维存储技术 ,如全息存储等。全息存储技术以其存储密度和数据读出率高及相关内容寻址等特点极有可能成为下一代的存储解决方案。但由于缺乏合适的存储材料及实用部件 ,全息存储器的实用化进程较为迟缓。近年来 ,用于全息存储系统的实用组件的极大发展 ,再一次引起了研究人员对这一技术的兴趣 ,实用化的全息存储器呼之欲出 ,更加巩固了全息存储下一代存储解决方案的地位

Abstract:The requirements for storage capacity and fast transfer rate have increased dramatically in the past decade, and are exploding especially with the popularity of the internet and multimedia. Our needs for high capacity, fast transfer rate, and short access time appear to be insatiable. Optics and the basic principles of holography are a particularly attractive way to meet these requirements and may well represent the storage solution of the future. But the realization of holographic storage has been frustrated by the lack of availability of suitable system components, and perhaps most importantly, by the absence of recording materials that satisfied the stringent requirements of holographic storage. Recently the development of practical components for holographic systems removes many of the obstacles that previously prevented the practical consideration of holographic storage and greatly enhances the prospects for holography to become a next generation storage technology. A practically realizable, high capacity holographic storage system with fast transfer rates and low cost, removable recording media is vividly portrayed.
