Utilization of intense neutron generators in science and technology

This review outlines the present status of conventional and intense neutron generators and their utilization in basic research and technology. The following topics are discussed: output characteristics of neutron generators; status of microscopic and integral neutron nuclear data; nuclear levels and decay schemes; miscellaneous applications of neutron generators (activation and prompt radiation analysis, pulsed-neutron experiments, fast-neutron irradiation effects).
