A S Band Electrically Tuned TRAPATT Oscillator

This paper describes neccessary conditions of electrically tuning the frequency of a TRAPATT oscillator. A TRAPATT circuit with microstrip-waveguide coupling structure has been proposed, which enables the third harmonic to be tuned independently and the TRAPATT oscillator to be electrically tuned with a varactor in the waveguide.Tuning range of the S-band TRAPATT oscillator is excess of 30 MHz with an output power variation of no more than 0.2 dB.
