| Abstract: | Alkylate is an ideal gasoline blending component. Traditional alkylation process is liquid acid alkylation process (HF and H2SO4). For the hazard of liquid acid alkylation process, major oil companies in the world have been active in developing solid acid alkylation process to replace the liquid acids. The development of solid acid alkylation catalyst and process were reviewed. The AlkyClean process of Akzo Nobel /ABB Lummus, the Alkylene process of UOP, the FBA process of Haldor Topsoe and the Eurofuel process of Lurgi were described in detail. |
