Abstract:Due that the NBR is a critical material for crew pump stators, the frictional pair, which comprises No.45 steel and NBR with diverse carbon black and cyanoethylene contents,is studied.By using MPV-600 ring-block friction and wear testing machine, the experiments are first conducted under dry friction and crude-oil lubrication conditions. Then, the NBR abrasion and frictional coefficient are analyzed to initially investigate the wear mechanism. Finally,it is found from experimental results that, the NBR abrasion under dry friction increases with more loading, while the abrasive resistance intensifies with higher carbon black and cyanoethylene contents. In addition, the wear mechanisms under dry friction and crude-oil lubrication conditions are almost the same, whereas the NBR wear loss is quite small with smooth surface, accompanied by decreased frictional coefficient under crude-oil lubrication and cooling.
Keywords:screw pump stator  NBR  carbon black  cyanoethylene  wear loss
